It’s that time of year again, it’s back to college and I hope you all had a good summer. As we all well know the beginning of the college year means the first collegiate tournament is just around the corner.

That’s why on the 16^th of October we will hopefully all be out in force in the beautiful south eastern town of Wexford for the first of the college events and with the entry number encouragingly high it is likely to be yet another great event with large numbers that will further enhance the stellar reputation that the ICHA has built up over the years. As always we like to be in contact with you to provide some of the need to know information on the tournament.

The event will be held in and around Wexford town but there will also be matches in other courts in Castlebridge and Barntown and with this we will be providing a shuttle service to each of the venues each day. There will be a number of top quality players fresh from the World Handball Championships attending quality players with the likes of last year’s A winner Nicolas Anthony (WIT) and his fellow college club player Ger McGrath, along with DCUs Ciaran Neary (world doubles champion). With such a strong top men’s division, this year is going to be very hotly contested. Also in the women’s top division there are some top names with the return of last years champion Ashley Prendiville (UCC), two of ULs top players Deirdre Donohoe and Karen Lawlor along with Shauna Hilley of ITT. This event aims to be one of the best that the ICHA have put on in years and is one not to be missed. Also it is one of the best ways to get to meet all those guys you haven’t seen in a while and to congratulate all the success of the guys in the states.
